My new Krups Fast Touch coffee grinder is like my cell phone--my only expectation is that it do what it was made to do. The new one replaces one with many bells and whistles which added nothing but frustration to the grinding experience. The Krups grinder grinds the beans the way you want them ground, quickly and quietly. Pre-coffee morning is no time to have to make decisions about complicated grinder issues. You put the beans in, grind to your chosen grade, and the ooffee is ready to roll.
After reading reviews on coffee grinders and coffee pots with built in grinders, I decided to go with this Krups Coffee Grinder. I am glad I did. It grinds the coffee quickly and easily. The only problem is with getting the coffee out as it sticks to the sides as I am sure it does in the coffee pots which would mean you would not be getting all fresh coffee each time you used it. However, I tried using my pastry brush to get the coffee out. It works great. Now I have a clean grinder to start with each time and fresh coffee just like I wanted. I highly recommend using a small pastry brush. Other things I initially tried did not clean as thoroughly or as quickly.
We just started using this grinder. There's nothing fancy about it. No settings to mess with. Just a simple grinder. I got this one after my Cuisinart "burr" grinder died after just 6 months. This grinder has a solid well made feeling to it and hopefully will last a long time. For the price I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Especially like how solid it feels. We use it to grind beans for our drip coffee machine. Hold the button for a couple of seconds and you should get a fairly fine grind. We also have an automatic expresso machine but sometimes you just need a simple cup of coffee.
