ขั้นตอนการสมรสในประเทศไทยมีการดำเนินการอย่างไรบ้าง

ขั้นตอนการสมรสในประเทศไทย ค่อนข้างจะตรงไปตรงมา สำหรับชาวต่างชาติที่จะสมรสในประเทศไทยนั้น ขั้นแรกจะต้องขอการอนุมัติอย่างเป็นทางการจากสถานทูตของพวกเขาเสียก่อน อย่างไรก็ตาม สถานทูตต่างๆจะมีวิธีปฏิบัติที่แตกต่างกันในการให้การอนุมัตินี้ เมื่อได้การอนุมัติแล้ว ชาวต่างชาติจะได้รับ Affidavit ซึ่งจะแถลงเกี่ยวกับชื่อของชาวต่างชาติผู้นั้น ตลอดจนรายละเอียดส่วนตัว เช่น สัญชาติและความมีอิสระตามกฏหมายในการสมรส Affidavit จะต้องนำมาแปลเป็นภาษาไทยและรับรองความ ถูกต้องตามกฏหมายไทย เมื่อเตรียม เอกสารครบแล้ว จึงจะสามารถดำเนินการสมรสได้ ณ ที่ทำการเขตของไทยซึ่งเป็นที่รู้จักในนาม “ อำเภอ ” หรือ “ เขต ”
เหตุใดประเทศไทยจึงเป็นสถานที่ที่เหมาะสมในการสมรสกับคู่สมรสชาวต่างชาติ
ในประเทศไทยนั้น ตามกฏหมาย แล้วชาวต่างชาติสามารถสมรสกับบุคคลสัญชาติไทย หรือชาวต่างชาติอื่นได้โดยชอบด้วยกฏหมาย โดยที่มีเงื่อนไขว่าจะต้องเป็นไปตามข้อกำหนด การสมรสในประเทศไทยเป็นการสมรสโดยชอบด้วยกฏหมายตามกฏหมายไทย ซึ่งตามปกติแล้วจะได้รับการยอมรับไปทั่วโลก สำหรับผู้ที่มีปัญหาเรื่องการ ข้ามชาติ ในกรณีคู่สมรสฝ่ายหนึ่งหรือทั้งสองฝ่ายมาจากประเทศต่างกัน ประเทศไทยเป็นสถานที่ที่มีความสะดวกอย่างมากในการจดทะเบียนสมรส ข้อดีอื่นๆ ในการสมรสในประเทศไทย คือ ความหลากหลายของ สถานที่สวยงาม อย่างเช่น รีสอร์ทริมชายหาดระดับโลก ซึ่งเป็นที่ที่สามารถประกอบพิธีสมรสหรือพิธีทางศาสนาได้ ภายหลังจากมีการดำเนินการสมรสตามกฏหมายแล้ว
ยังมีข้อดีอื่น ๆ อีกหรือไม่สำหรับการสมรสในประเทศไทย
สำหรับผู้ที่สนใจในการทำสัญญาก่อนการแต่งงาน (Prenuptial Agreements) นั้น โดยปกติแล้วระบบกฏหมายของประเทศไทย จะสนับสนุนการทำสัญญาก่อนการสมรสมากกว่าประเทศอื่นๆในทางตะวันตกที่ (ดูหน้าสัญญาก่อนการสมรส)

- หนังสือรับรองการทำงาน ใบอนุญาตทำงาน และหลักฐานการชำระภาษีเงินได้(ภ.ง.ด.1, ภ.ง.ด.91) ไม่ต่ำกว่า 40,000.- บาท ...สำเนาหนังสือเดินทางภรรยา ,ใบสำคัญประจำตัวคนต่างด้าวของภรรยา , ใบสำคัญถิ่นที่อยู่ของภรรยา

หลักฐานการมีเงินได้ของภรรยาพร้อมเอกสารที่เกี่ยวข้อง เช่น
- สมุดบัญชีเงินฝาก
- หนังสือรับรองจากธนาคารเจ้าของบัญชีเงินฝาก
- หลักฐานการทำงาน , รายได้ ฯลฯ
หลักฐานการเสียภาษีเงินได้ (ถ้ามี)
เจ้าหน้าที่สงวนสิทธิ์ที่จะตรวจสอบ หรือเรียกเอกสารเพิ่มเติมได้ตามความจำเป็นหมายเหตุ สอบถามรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับเอกสารที่ใช้ประกอบการพิจารณาได้

Non Immigrant O (วีซ่าแต่งงาน)
หากคนต่างด้าวแต่งงานกับกับภรรยาไทย มีความต้องการจะเข้ามาอยู่ที่ประเทศไทย สามารถขอวีซ่า Non-Immigrant Visa (Non-O) โดยสามารถขอได้ที่สถานทูตไทยในต่างประเทศ หรือจะขอเปลี่ยนจากวีซ่าท่องเที่ยว วีซ่า ผ.30 วีซ่า ผ.90 มาเป็นวีซ่า Non-Immigrant Visa (Non-O) ได้ที่ด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมือง และจะได้รับการอนุมัติให้อยู่ที่ประเทศไทยได้ไม่เกิน 3 เดือน แต่หากต้องการจะอยู่ในประเทศไทยต่อเป็นวีซ่าระยะยาว 1 ปี ก็ต้องไปขอยื่นเรื่องต่อวีซ่าได้ที่ ด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมือง
เงื่อนไขและหลักเกณฑ์การพิจารณาการขอวีซ่า Non-Immigrant Visa (Non-O) และวีซ่า 1 ปี
1. กรณีภรรยาเป็นคนไทยคนต่างด้าวต้องมีเงินในบัญชีไม่น้อยกว่า 400,000 บาทโดยดูจากบัญชีเงินฝากย้อนหลัง 3 เดือน หากไม่มีเงินในบัญชีถึง 400,000 บาท ก็เป็นหลักฐานจากการมีรายได้ของฝ่ายใดฝ่ายหนึ่งหรือทั้งสองรวมกันไม่น้อยกว่า 40,000 บาท
2. กรณีสามีเป็นคนไทยไม่ได้กำหนดรายได้ขั้นต่ำไว้ แต่ควรแสดงเอกสารที่เกี่ยวกับการทำงาน รวมทั้งสมุดเงินฝากบัญชีธนาคาร
3. ทั้งภรรยาไทยและสามีไทยมีหลักฐานการสมรส หรือหลักฐานจดทะเบียนรับรองบุตร
4. สำเนาทะเบียนบ้านและสำเนาบัตรประชาชนของสามีหรือภรรยาที่คนต่างชชาติแต่งงานด้วย
หมายเหตุ : ในกรณีที่ต้องการต่อวีซ่า 1 ปีให้สังเกตว่าจดทะเบียนสมรสที่จังหวัดใหนให้ต่อวีซ่าที่ด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดนั้นๆ
และเมื่อต้องการเดินทางออกไปต่างประเทศและต้องการกลับเข้ามาที่ประเทศไทยด้วยวีซ่าตัวเดิม อย่าลืมทำ Re-Entry เพราะไม่อย่างนั้นจะกลับเข้ามาเป็นวีซ่า ผ.30
หรือเมื่อได้รับวีซ่าระยะยาว 1 ปีแล้วหากอยู่ครบ 90 วันแล้วไม่ได้เดินทางออกไปต่างประเทศเลย ต้องไปรายงานตัว 90 วันที่ด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมือง

Bride price also known as bride wealth is an amount of money or property or wealth paid to the parents of a woman for the right to marry their daughter. (Compare dowry, which is paid to the groom, or used by the bride to help establish the new household, and dowry, which is property settled on the bride herself by the groom at the time of marriage.) In the anthropological literature bride price has often been explained in market terms, as payment made in exchange for the bride's family's loss of her labor and fertility within her kin group. Compare this practice with which does not rely on a compensatory exchange idiom interpretation.

The same culture may simultaneously practice both dowry and bride price.

Many cultures practiced bride price prior to any existing records.

In Thai culture, the husband makes a payment to the brides parents for marrying her

Marriage according to Thai Customs

In Thailand; we separate the marriage into 2 types as follows:-

1.Traditional Thai Wedding Ceremony

The groom will have to meet the bride's parents; receiving consents from the bride’s parents to perform the marriage. After that, religious ceremony can be held, i.e. inviting monk to give blessings for the couple's good fortune marriage life; to let the passed away-relatives respected by the bride's family know that the bride will get married. In some localities, there is "String-tying Ceremony" which means white strings will be tied over your wrist for blessing and good fortune. In some localities, there is "Pouring water" over the couple's hands; meaning to bless couple for peaceful and happiness in marriage life. In some localities, "Dowry" must be given to the bride's parents, in order to express the thankful to the bride's parents that they have been giving love and care to the bride until you've met and get married with her. After the traditional ceremony, there will be celebration, party in order to let everyone in the village knows that both of you are husband and wife.

2. Marriage Registration under the Thai Law

This is the legal marriage registration which will be performed at the District Office (or in Thai we call "AMPHUR"); it has legal effect that both of you are lawfully married. It is a must for the couple to go to the District Office in person and it take legal effect right after the registration is performed.
