Okay as many of you it took me forever to decide between the Summit and the BOB, I just could not decide and honestly everyone kept saying that the BOB was THE jogging stroller. I just couldn't decide due to all the reviews about the height but no stores carried the summit. I finally was able to drive out to a buybuy baby in NJ and tested both out thoroughly with my daughter. I think I spent over an hour comparing both. Here is what I experienced.Maclaren Triumph Stroller, Graco Quattro Tour , Valco 2012 ZEE, Quinny Buzz Travel Bag , Eddie Bauer Trailmaker , Duo Sport Double Stroller, Schwinn Tourismo Swivel, Bugaboo Cameleon Complete, Peg Perego Pliko P3, Safety 1st Jaunt, Bugaboo Bee Stroller , Maclaren Techno Stroller, Baby Jogger 81260KIT1, Cozy Cocoon Confetti , Chicco Keyfit Caddy, Maclaren Quest Sport , 4moms Origami Stroller , Peg Perego Switch Four , Baby Jogger City, Chicco 00061502430070, Mutsy 4Rider, Bugaboo Cameleon, Bugaboo 2011 Bee, Maclaren Triumph Stroller, Maxi-Cosi Foray Stroller , Baby Trend Expedition, Graco SnugRider Frame, Baby Trend Elite, Peg Perego Uno , Mamas Papas Urbo, Aprica Moto Travel System , Tike Tech Double City , Peg Perego Switch, Chariot Deluxe Cougar, Baby Trend Navigator , phil teds Verve, Evenflo lightweight Eurotek, Teutonia T-Linx, Maclaren Twin Techno , Stokke Xplory Summer, Canada Goose Baby, Peg Perego Si Travel, Peg Perego 2011 Pliko, Maclaren Twin Triumph

My daughter is 28lbs and 32.5 inches tall and the BOB canopy was a bother for her. She hated it! When folded the canopy would gather behind her head and it would frustrate her greatly. The canopy on the Summit is nowhere near her and folds excellently. The side vents are wonderful because she can also see through them. I also love that the canopy is super sturdy that her doll hangs from it with ease.

The seat itself on the BOB was firmer, but it had so many crevices that it bugged her. The Summit was too slouchy but for $8 i got the back board you put into the seat from a slot on the back and the seat is perfect! It was nice and sturdy and she sits up perfectly.

Both strollers had ridiculous baskets on the bottom but its more than enough water bottles and a light sweater. I don't use it for purses because its not really meant for that. The sling ouch pouch and zipper pocket on the back of the seat helps greatly but the BOB also offers that so it was really not a deciding factor.

The footrest on the BOB is a triangle and my daughters legs were not comfortable on it. She likes moving her legs around when we walk and on the BOB she really had no room. On the summit there is significant space for her legs.

The Summit moves way smoother than the BOB hands down. Now the front wheel may be an issue but you contact BJ customer service and they can help you out with that.

THE HANDBRAKE! Was the best! I did not even think about ever needing one but thank goodness I have it now. The ramps to cross streets here are very inclined so whenever I go on ramps, hills, anything the handbrake helps. The weight of my toddler, the stroller and my stuff pull down the stroller on a hill so the handbrake really helps me out greatly especially during a red light or stop sign.

Now closing the stroller. The Summit is truly one handed, you can't beat that. The BOB isn't bad either its a 2 step fold. HOWEVER, opening the BOB is way easier than the Summit so you have to decide which matters to you. I prefer the 1 handed close because I have to hold my daughter. Opening it isn't that bad.

I love the look of the stroller, I don't know why but the BOB looks like a short stubby guy while the Summit looks like a tall sleek guy HAHAHAHA I don't know why but that's how I compared the look of it.

Oh and I am 5 feet tall and my husband is 5'10 and we have no issues with the height of the handlebar. I however speed-walk and do real light jogs and my husband really jogs so maybe that's why. I bought this last spring and have now used it for 6 months. It is a fantastic jogging stroller. A few big advantages over the ever-popular BOB: 1. One-hand close is awesome, awesome. Also just swings open. We keep our stroller in a front closet so have to open and close it all the time (as opposed to keeping it open in a garage or something). I've heard BOB sometimes requires "three-hands" i.e. not easy. 2. Price - slightly less than BOB. 3. Shade is super big and folds back much better than the BOB.

The stroller handle is a couple inches higher than the BOB and some other jogging strollers. My tall husband loves it, but it' a little on the high end for me at 5'4". If you're shorter than that I would really recommend trying this out in a store first.

Ride is fantastic - good suspension. We leave the front wheel in the swivel position so it's easier to turn corners, and it works just fine and we haven't had any problems with it getting unaligned. We live in the city so this stroller is waaaay better for handling sidewalk cracks and bumps than a conventional stroller, so we use it for walks too.

There are plenty of products to choose from in a broad range of prices, so we did a ton of research. We settled on the Summit XC because of its sturdy construction, easy fold-down capability and adaptability for different needs. It's great for running on dirt roads (shock absorbers) and evening neighborhood strolls. Our 11-month-old likes communing with nature from her perch, and is comfortable enough to nap on a long walk when she wants to. My wife can pack up the jogger in our car and go for walks with other mothers and babies without a second thought because of the one-step fold-down operation.

Additionally, we had an issue due to operator error, and Baby Jogger customer service far exceeded our expectations in terms of the speed and scale of the response.

We viewed this purchase as a long-term recyclable investment that would last long past the time our daughter would need it ... to a point where we can give it to someone else. There is no question in our minds the product is well worth the purchase price.

It was a long arduous process to choose between all the strollers with good ratings, but I feel I made the right choice. I do not own a car as I live within a mile radius from everywhere I would ever possibly need to go. This stroller does everything I need it to do. I can load my groceries into it, push it with one hand, take it over the craggy sidewalks, dirt and rocks, snow/ice, and hilly grass. I plan on taking it camping this summer and after its performance in past month or so I am not worried about it at all.

The only disappointments are minor; purchasing accessories like the belly bar separate. After pouring over reviews I ended up doing the belly bar instead of the tray which others were saying didn't fit right. I also ended up buying the Sunshine Kids Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy, which I would recommend over all the other available "parent consoles" out there. The Baby Jogger one is overpriced in my opinion. It seems the Baby Jogger accessories may not live up to the standard they have set with their actual strollers with the exception of the belly bar.

I've used a jeep stroller and cheap Shopko strollers- not umbrella style. My last Shopko stroller did have more storage underneath, and it did hang in there for a little over a year, but compared to this stroller it was wobbly, the seat was hard, and all the print and color faded off of it in the first two months. The wheels would constantly need to be oiled as it made a hideous squeaking noise. And there was the general shame of pushing my kid around in something so battered. I believe the cheaper strollers are great if you aren't jogging or using them every day. But the way I use strollers, the price on this stroller was worth every penny. I'll update if anything changes, but this thing looks and is still behaving like I just pulled it out of the box, even though I've used it to carry $200 of groceries once a week and taken it on every kind of city terrain, not to mention used it literally every day.

The smooth ride and seat design are great for my 2 year old. I have had a lot of different cheap strollers and I have never seen my son perceptibly love any of them. He loves this stroller. Like requests to watch Sesame Street in the house sitting in it loves it. Not to mention on the road he can see better. If I listed all the things I love about this stroller, it would go like this:

-Shocks on every wheel for the smoothest ride
-Seat is washable
-Full reclining seat
-Large basket- good carrying capacity with additional large mesh pocket on the back
-Fits easily through doorways/ down aisles at the grocer
-Rolls quickly even over rough terrain
-Deep sun shade adjustable to 3 different lengths
-The top of the reclining back is mesh, letting in fresh air for child- perfect feature for trips in the summer sun
-The folding mechanism is the simplest and easiest to use out of all others I have seen. Even with the larger wheels it folds down small enough to load into the trunk of a compact car.

And nothing beats the pride I have pushing my son in a black chariot fit for Phaeton. I think it looks better in person than in the photo.
