Like some other reviewers, I had a few issues with the delivery and with assembling the product but got there in the end (initally managed to put it together stuck on level 10 which was rather hard work!!)....Livestrong 6.0R , York Active 120 , Kettler Cycle M , NordicTrack E7, Reebok S1 Spin Bike, SUUNTO Ambit Black, Bodymax CF375, E-Range Deluxe Multi Gym, Reebok ZR7, JTX Sprint7, Bodymax CF520, KORE Commercial , Branx Fitness 20kph, Proform 505ZLE, PureFitness Sports R800, JTX 5000XL , Slendertone Men s Face, Polar RCX5 , Kettler Sinto P Exercise, Kettler Axos Cycle R, FRONTIER PENNINE 24 , BRAND NEW HEAVY DUTY, Infiniti R80, Plum 12 Foot Space, freeFORM Board , Suunto T6D, Teeter EP550, Rehabilitation Treadmill , York Perform 210 , Upgraded 2000W , Marcy Home Gym , Kettler Cycle P , Weslo 16, JTX Smart Stride 23, Sole TT8 , Bodymax CF480, WaterRower Club , Polar RC3 GPS, V-Fit TR99I , V-Fit Aerobic , NordicTrack E10 , Fuel Fitness 5.0, V-Fit MPTE2 , Branx Fitness 24Kph, JTX Strider X5 , Fuel Fitness 4.0, SixBros. Now it's sorted, I'm really pleased with this. The rowing machine is very smooth & quiet, and because the footplates rotate a bit I don't think I'll get the foot pain that I had from rowing at the gym. The bike also seems good though I've not used it much yet. The main thing is that it's very compact so just fits under the stairs (tho' it is quite heavy to move). I'd definitely recommend it as a two-in-one exercise machine - cheaper than a year's gym membership and you can watch what you want to on TV!

There are a few negatives with this machine: the pedals catch the seat in cycling mode, the seat itself is very uncomfortable, if you are taller than 6', the seat of the rower does not have enough travel and will bang at the end of the rail and when in cycle mode, the seat does not raise enough to allow full extension of the legs, the computer is a bit vague to say the least and the resistance does not really seem to have any effect. However, despite all these flaws, I use the bike pretty regularly. Just be warned if you are of above average height, this may not be the machine for you.

I purchased this bike back in 2005 (not from Amazon, I can't recall where it was from but it was £280 as far as I recall, my model was in black but otherwise identical).

It has had more than a fair amount of use from a fluctuating 12-14 stone waster and is still in pretty good repair today.

I'll add that the row pedals do get in the way when cycling and that the pulserate monitor really isn't up to that much. Alos the seat is now a bit squeaky and rowing against magnetic pulse is nothing like the air resistance machines.

Still, it's a sturdy unit and has lasted a long time, hope it lasts a lot longer too.

Not had the bike/rower very long and not many opportunities to use it so far, but it seems fine.
Minor niggles, when in bike mode, the bike pedals catch on the rower, when in row mode, the footplates are (compared with the overall equipment) very flimsy and the velcro straps rather cheap.
Also, all the facilities available on the "computer" are only available in bike mode - limited access in row mode.
It's bigger than you think !

I received this item a few months ago. Delivery and service were good. The cycle rower is relatively easy to set up, but had a couple of small problems with pedal straps and centre post insert. However the York "person" was very helpful and replaced these within a couple of days. I use the Cycle and Rower and find them both very good. The Computer is helpful, showing speed, distance, time and calories.

However the heart rate monitoring part is so erratic it could be dangerous. I think York would be better off not including this as part of the equipment. My wife and I both use the cycle and both find the same problem. We have tried all sorts of different holds and used "gel" ( the connections are on the handlebars) but still get the same useless readings. When I asked York for help/advice I was told that "it doesn't work for everybody". In that case should they be selling this as a feature? They do have a "telemetry" option (heart rate transmission belt wirelessly connected to the computer) at extra cost. I was told this is out of stock and would be so for at least 6 weeks, with no lead time as to when it would be available. So I have bought a different heart rate monitor which works very well.
So to sum up the equipment is very good and does what I hoped for, with the exception of the heart rate monitoring. Perhaps York should consider including the "telemetry" option as standard.

I have to say I was looking for excuses not to like this - I actually have no desire to become a person who uses an exercise bike or rower. BUT it really is rather good and such an easy way of getting a bit of exercise. It is fine to assemble - but possibly best with two people to share the "fun", and completely straightforward to use. Conversion of rower from bike is beyond simple. Only problem is if you have the bike facing the TV, the rower will face away from it, and turning it round is no mean feat - it is quite heavy (as all these things are, of course). I'm only not giving 5 stars because I resent liking it, and the seat sometimes squeaks!
