Right off the bat I'll say that this computer has great specs, especially for the price. Great sound quality, and a beautiful screen. This wasn't built with high-end gaming in mind, but it can hold its own with just about every game out there, albeit some of them not on their highest settings.

However, I had to return my initial order and request a replacement (which all occurred within 4 days, kudos to Amazon for the customer support, as well as the free 1-day shipping). My first order must have had a severely corrupt HDD, because it managed to completely wipe Win7 off of the drive. I had it for 3 days before this happened. I also noticed that the top-right corner (where the charger port is) would easily lift and separate from the bottom plate. Nothing major, but you're spending a lot of money so you expect a solid product. Got my replacement earlier today. The top-right corner on this one is fine and doesn't lift from the bottom plate, so hopefully that's a good omen.

As long as the hard drive doesn't completely crap out on my replacement, I won't be disappointed with this laptop.

After much research I purchased this laptop and I could not be more satisfied with the ASUS N56VZ. The display and the sound are jaw droppingly awesome. I spend most of my time just staring at the screen and sampling music from spotify right now. The very first thing I did upon purchase was switch the hard drive out for a 256 SSD. While I cannot comment on the speed with the regular hard drive, I can now boot up windows in 12 seconds. This thing is a beast. The only troubles I had with the computer were that the #1 key was a little off when it arrived. I just had to press it in to make it attach to itself better and now its fine. Also the trackpad has taken some time to get used to. I am happy with it now but I had to play with settings to get it right.
