For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile created the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Some of Tissot's triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world's first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece's movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot's timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR.
Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years--including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela--and James Stewart's character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. Today, Tissot is a member of the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch producer and distributor.

This watch is loaded with so many features in a small package that you can hardly believe it. It has a dual time zone feature for those of you who travel and it also features dual alarm clock settings. The digital display is backlit in orange light when you press and hold the side button for a few seconds. The digital display can show the present time, date, ambient temperature, barometric pressure, altimeter, and stopwatch function.
When in the barometric mode the watch hands will move to a position between 11:55 to 12:05 to indicate the possible weather changes coming your way. To the left of 12 means the barometer is falling (The closer to 11:55 the faster the weather is changing) and to the right of 12 means it is rising. It is an analog weather predictor based on the past changes in the barometric pressure.

The watch has a compass mode and when selected the minute hand points north and the hour hand points south. The analog hands and the digital display is a nice feature because you can display two functions simultaneously. You can program the units of measure like pressure, temperature and altimeter reading to display in English or metric units of measure. You can even calibrate the barometric pressure and the altimeter with the local weather service for more accurate readings in your area.
It is a beautiful watch and it is my everyday watch. The battery will last about 3 years if it is a new one. Overall this is a great watch with a lot of features and stylish also. I love this watch! I have been wanting it for 3 years and I finally found it at my price range here on Amazon. I spend a ton of time outdoors when I am away from my monkey suit job. This watch works well in both situations. I read all the reviews before I purchased, so I was aware of how easy the watch scratches. It does scratch extremely easily. Since that is the only negative and I was aware of it when I purchased it, I am giving it a 5 star rating (I would have given it 4 stars if I did not know that).

This watch is a conversation starter for sure. The touch screen is ridiculously cool. I was very surprised how accurate the compass was. The function that keeps track of total elevation gain/loss works great if you stop it during breaks. As with all barometric altimeters, it needs regular calibration to be effective. I would suggest figuring out the elevation at your house or work and then calibrating it as frequently as possible. After a couple uses, you get used to the different functions and I find them to be more user friendly than similar Sunto products (and WAY better looking!). If you are a very large person, this watch may not fit you and may require additional links (not included). I am 6'0" 245 pounds and the watch fit perfectly right out of the box not taking out any links.
In summary, I love this watch and all my friends are jealous! Looks good on your wrist in the woods and when you are wearing nice clothes out on the town. Suck it up and buy it!
