The tv was easy to set up and appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. However after having used the item for the last 4 months I have noticed that the dvd player is ridiculously loud, so much so it's not usable. Secondly, whilst I have no issues with my tv ariel on any other tv in my house, for some reason this tv periodically claims not to be recieving any signal. Also, I have a harddrive plugged in to the tv but recently it has been unable to detect when a USB device is inserted. Bizzarely, it DOES recognise if you unplug the USB. The latest problem I've had is when I switch the tv off, instead of turning off the screen turns black but remains backlit.

I have contacted customer services again and am currently awaiting a response. Having read some of the other reviews it appears I am not alone in the problems I have had and hope to recieve a refund. It seems the old addage is true; buy cheap, buy twice!

RECORDING
1. The advert states that the television can record television programmes onto an external storage item e.g. via a USB memory stick. However, if you want to record television programmes you can NOT watch any other television channels other than the programme you are recording! Otherwise, you will have to cancel the recording (not able to record a television programme completely) and then you are allowed to watch any television programmes you choose. In summary, this television does not allow record-and-view-channels - you can only elect one or the other! This is obviously not informed by Finlux to potential buyers on the sales advert.

2. Recordings I had made on a USB memory stick is not listed on the "Recordings" page i.e. all recorded television programmes are missing! The bottom on the Recordings page clearly shows data usage from a USB memory stick e.g. "Gigabytes Used" and "Remaining" yet no recorded television programmes or partial recorded list is listed.

3. I have used several USB memory stick and they are not the problem - USB memory sticks are very simple, basic items and unlikely to be faulty. It appears that a weakness of this Finlux TV is that when you take the USB memory stick out and put it back in, the television programmes that has been recorded is not then shown on the Recordings page or sometimes not all the recorded TV programmes appears. Therefore a USB memory stick needs to be permanently left attached to the USB port of the TV. Therefore, how are I suppose to see recorded films that my friends lends me or I wish to lend to them? Furthermore, when I do re-plug my USB sticks onto the televisions some all my films are not listed on the Recordings page! when I contacted Finlux they said to format my memory sticks on FAT32 - which they all are so nothing wrong with memory sticks but actually a poor recordings fault on this Finlux Television.

4. When the recorded films are not shown on the Finlux TV I have to go to my laptop to check if the recordings do exist - which it always do show that recording have been successful. However, because recordings are not shown on this Finlux TV's Recording page, I therefore can not click on "play" because there is showing nothing-to-view on the Recording page. On some occasions when a list of films do appear I click on any of them to play a pop up screen states there is no recordings (even though the list and memory usage clearly states there are recorded programmes) - another major fault.
