Never had a Samsung product before. Good picture and easy to set up. However, on low volumn the sound quality is extremely poor. Better on higher setting. I thought I was just unlucky with this particular set however speaking to my son, who has a 32 inch set,he says he has the same problem - very distorted sound on low volumn. This then is a problem with this make so buyer beware. Have never had this problem with any other set I have owned over the last 50 odd years. I have a LG 48 inch TV and sound is perfect at any volumn. That is why I can only give it 3 stars.

Using this TV with SD freeview channels digital terrestial TV the picture is as good as the source allows and makes for enjoyable viewing. Very easy to set up, the 51 inch screen is big - even for a large room! I wanted to connect this to a an older hifi to reproduce a wider sound range than the internal speakers can deliver when watching films. The only audio connections provided are optical audio out and a rear headphone socket. I thought I might need to purchase an optical to analogue audio converter. However I was able to connect the hifi via the TV's SCART socket using a phono adaptor and this seems to work well. Bottom line - a no frills value for money TV.
